I began the journey to becoming involved in fishing for women at 5 years old hanging minnows off a dock in the middle of the water-skiers, because I understood that the strike of a sunfish on a Scooby-Do fishing pole was far more fun than surfing boat wakes on wooden slabs. By the age of ten I was angling for trout in the rivers of Colorado using salmon eggs and night crawlers, as all good vacationing Texans do, and learning how to clean my catch and cook it riverside. In my youth I battled big bass and prowling catfish in lakes using my strongest spincasting reel. Finally, in the last ten years I’ve discovered the beautiful dance they call fly fishing... still in awe at the number of women fishing when I hit the rivers and happy to watch that number grow.

Women’s fishing adventures can be taken solo or with an appreciative family. Either way, getting outdoors and embracing your inner sportsman will transport you to a better place.
