WOMEN FLY FISHING
with Sabrina Stratford
Fly fishing for women was immortalized on the silver screen when Paul Maclean, played by the adorable at the time, Brad Pitt,
ran through a river in Bozeman Montana. His sparkling eyes spot the big trout sitting under a bank-side rock and he gets
ready to rumble by placing his money under his hat and hitching up his waders. He false-casts twice to build distance and lands
the big hopper directly in the flat plane of water above the big fish’s head. Strike! Father and brother watch in awe
from the bank as he runs down the river with his rod-tip pointed to the sky and battles the current to keep the ten pound trout on
the reel. Brad Pitt does his thing and in the process, strengthens my resolve to finally take up the sport.
